Lorraine Greyling obtained the degrees BCom, BComHons Economics (Cum Laude), MCom Economics (Cum Laude) and DCom Economics from the Rand Afrikaans University. She currently holds the position of Chairperson in the Department of Economics at the University of Johannesburg, since 2000. Prior to 2000, Lorraine was employed by Rand Afrikaans University’s Department of Economics from 1980, starting her career as Technical and Research Assistant and progressing to Professor and Chairperson at the present date.
Her extensive contribution to the university includes serving on several committees and she is a member of numerous editorial boards, professional associations and a visiting Professor for Macroeconomics at the University of Newport, to name only a few. Lorraine boasts vast experience in economic research and has published a variety of prescribed textbooks and approximately 25 publications in various journals. Her papers have been read at several international and national conferences and she has supervised various postgraduate studies, including 85 on Master’s level, 8 on Doctoral level and 15 research projects.
